I’m a mum with a child at kinder and another at primary school. I know from the waiting lists and growing class sizes that Brunswick is full of kids. Here are some of my priorities that make Brunswick better for kids.
- Establish a district playground in Gilpin Park
- Create a new public park at the Edward Street car park
- Enforce laws to keep pedestrians, children, the elderly and people pushing prams safe on footpaths, especially in shopping areas
- Upgrade the drainage, irrigation and lighting at AG Gillion oval
- Strengthen laws, enforcement and education requiring dog owners to clean up after their animals in pubic places
- Easier booking of Council facilities for fundraisers, social events and community events including kids birthday parties
- Additional bike parking that allows lock-up of bike trailers
- More safe road crossing points for pedestrians and cyclists
